Once upon a time a bard borrowed a horse from a witch, a nice but insecure witch, the bard had know for many years. There was a performance in a nearby town and the bard needed travel. The horse was old and rickety but had been reliable in years past. On the way home from a joyful show, in the darkest air, amongst the tallest pines, the horse was having a hard time breathing. The bard stopped to give the horse a break, the horse looked deep into the bards eyes, fell over sideways and died. The bard stood and stared into the darkest night for home was an hour away by horse, but many hours by foot. The bard stepped forward barely seeing the path ahead, wolves howled from unseen places. The bards footsteps became a canter then a run, faster and faster. The bard whispered ‘oh night Angels, help me.’ And with an internal magical wand, a pitter pat of sound rouse from behind the bard, louder and louder it spoke with a gallop. The bard froze with uncertainty and turned to an empty carriage with a bright green lantern and orange flame. The carriage halted next to the bard and spoke ‘this is the green lantern of Haniel call upon it anytime you need a ride home.’
